Shame shame shame Big Ben...
After all the talk that has surrounded Big Ben and the steelers over the past few months, Big Ben's back on the field. OTA's are going on all around the league and the steelers have their starting QB back in the mix. Some players say OTA's aren't important, I'm sure if you asked any coach that question they'd probably have a different answer. The court ruled Ben was innocent, the girl accusing him dropped charges and another professional athlete got away by paying someone off. Details on the happenings of that night were revealed none making Ben seem like a decent person. The Commissioner suspended Ben for the first six games with the possibility of decreasing it if he showed good behavior. The fact that he gets the possibility of his six game suspension being decreased is ridiculous. For good behavior?? Aren't these players supposed to be on good behavior at all times anyway, I mean, kids look up to these guys whether they want them to or not. They make millions of dollars, they have it "all", do they really need to go around exposing themselves? That's a joke, and the fact that he's allowed to practice with team like everyone else is a bigger joke. What is Goodell trying to do anyway? If he's trying to portray a strict individual who wants to make an example out of players mistakes he's doing a good job up to this point. He maintained his ways by suspending Ben for 6 "possible" games but then he lets him partake in normal team activities. I see something wrong with this picture. The steelers are too "in love" with this guy and the two rings he brought them, there was rumor after the initial accusations that the steelers might be interested in trading Ben but we all know that was a lie. I understand the steelers want to win at all times and Ben is a huge part of that so them wanting him to practice is only natural. But Goodell letting it happen and viewing those actions as ok is really the biggest issue here. I'm sure Ben is smiling knowing he can show the steelers why they should continue to trust him by being his usual self and publicly humbling himself a little. He's also happy about the fact that he might get his 6 game suspension decreased meaning he might only lose 4 or 5 paychecks instead of 6. Everyone has their own interest in mind but what the heck man, everyone is too wrapped up in themselves to realize they're letting a guy that did wrong walk around going on with his day like everyone else when he should be paying for his mistake someway, somehow. Get it together ROGER! if you want to be the man than act like the man at all times!
